A simple, selective, linear, precise and accurate RP-HPLC method was developed and validated for rapid assay of Flucloxacillin Sodium in Bulk and Pharmaceutical tablet Formulation. Isocratic elution at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min was employed on symmetry Bondpeak C18 10 µm (3.9 x 300 mm) at ambient temperature.
The mobile phase consisted of Acetonitrile: 0.0.1M Phosphate buffer in the ratio of 35:65/v/v. The UV detection wavelength was 273nm and 10µl sample was injected. The retention time for Flucloxacillin Sodium is 1.5min. The percentage RSD for precision and accuracy of the method was found to be 0.1%.The method was validated as per the ICH guidelines. The method was successfully applied for routine quality control analysis of pharmaceutical formulation.
